My name is Jean Frye. I have made Pittsburgh my home for close to 30 years. I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and hit the road after high school. I traveled throughout the United States, concentrating most of my time in the southwest area of the country. I eventually landed in the 'Burgh in 1981. I was impressed with the city and thus chose to set up housekeeping and raise my three sons.
Growing up in Detroit during the Motown era fed my passion and creativity from an early age. I never considered myself an artist though I came from a family of talent. Then someone put a camera in my hands and thus began another chapter in my life. Photography planted the seed that eventually would lead me into Graphic Design. I can't help but look at the world as images. Light and angles are such creative tools in expressing oneself artistically. I try to keep that in mind when creating my works.
